Ok, i am in a dilema.......it's been officially six months i had my kid (Ok, i am a bit slow and been procastinating about setting my blog) and only now i decided to share with you all my joys and pain (Headache and body pain) for having my first born.
To kick-start and introducing myself first, i am a 34 year old whacky character guy who is an optimistic, happy go-lucky guy who use to flirt with all girls, be they young or old, beauty or beast, vision 20-20 or the blind (Some friends can attest to this statement, really.....). Used to be known as the "Aunty Killer" as well. But nowadays, i am been downgraded to "Mossie-Killer" and shove aside to the cold storage, while my lil bundle of joy have overthrown me to the throne, being the "Lui Sat Saou" or better known as "Lady Killer".
Well, i am proud to be a dad especially when my kid was born on 7th-July-07 (070707). I can still remember clearly that the doctor have projected that our son will be born on the 13th July 07 (Friday Da 13th...horrors!). But on the early mornings of 7th July, my wife began to have signs of bleeding and minor contractions. Since we attended the pre-natal class, we had the knowledge to keep cool and start preparing my "Dahling" wife to go for medical checkup. First, she took a good and long shower, then we went for a good breakfast, follow with driving to the petrol kiosk to pump full tank, went to a bakery to buy some breads and cakes and send her to the clinic at 3.40pm.
When the doctor conducted his check on my wife (With the blinds closed), i suddenly heard a "Pop" sound and saw a lot of water flowing down to the floor. The nurse were rushing to get a lot of tissues to wipe of the liquid. Then, the doctor walked to me and advise me to send my wife to the hospital (SJMC) immediately.
Since, we have pre-registered to SJMC, we have skipped the hassle of the queeing up for registration of admission. Wifey was admitted around 4.20pm.
So, wifey was admitted to a labour room and strap on some tracking gadgets to monitor baby's heartbeat. Whenever my wife have a contraction, the baby's heartbeat will drop to an abnormal rate (Less than "90" rate, normal is around 125) and this continues.
I tried to be strong infront of my wife all the time, trying to crack jokes and tried to cheer her up, knowing that she is very worried over the heartbeat problem. In actual fact, i was also very worried myself and panicked too. Luckily, Star Wars was on the telly and i manage to pull some jokes and divert some of the worries.
I waited till around 8.40pm and i can't control my panic state anymore and excuse myself from the room giving the excuse that i need to have my dinner. So, i went to a nearby mamak store and try to keep my composure. During this time, i really needed someone to talk to and release my stress. I called up a close friend and told my friend my worries and cried at my table (I think i scared some people who sit infront of my table). I told myself to keep cool but i just can't caused i was so worried for both my wife and my baby's condition. After the emotional conversation, i felt much better. So, i went back to my wife's room and continue to stay with her, in a fresh state and in a cheerful mood.
Time really passes by really slow during that moment and each tickling of the clock makes us more worried. I saw my wife in pain, and whenever she has a contraction, baby's heartbeat still remain the same..........still drop to "90". I prayed in my heart for the safety for mummy and baby.
At 11.00pm, doctor came in (Since afternoon to 10pm, the doctor did called up frequently to the nurses to check on my wife to keep him inform of the status) and told us that it is not normal for the drop of the baby's heartbeat for every contraction. Furthermore my wife's dilation still remain at 3cm and not suitable for natural labour. Our doctor gave us 2 options, one is to go for cesaerion and immediately check on baby's condition and should there be any complication, they can work out something as soon as possible. Second option is to continue to wait and continue to monitor the condition on both mummy and baby. We made a quick decision for cesaerion, fearing for our unborn child's health and safety. I was also very worried for my wife's safety as well and wanted to reduce her pain and mental torture on both of us.
Doctor immediately made the arrangement for the operation room. My wife was taken in, i wanted to join her to give her the support that she desperately need from a husband and father of our child. Doctor declined my request fearing that i may not be able to take it when he start "cutting open" my wife. So, he advice me to wait patiently at the waiting room.
Tick! Tick! Tick! Tick!!.................
